SMP For Scarring
Camouflage Scarring
Enhance Your Look
Flawlessly Conceal Scars
Discover the transformative power of Scalp Micro Pigmentation (SMP) in covering scars left behind after hair transplantation treatments or accidents, seamlessly blending them with the surrounding hair for a flawless final appearance.
Hair transplants are often considered the most drastic form of hair restoration for individuals struggling with hair loss, given the invasive nature of the surgery and its associated high costs. Our hair holds immense pride and confidence, making us go to great lengths to maintain its health and appearance. However, when hair loss occurs, and changes in the hairline or scalp become apparent, finding effective solutions can be a challenge.
Hair transplant procedures typically involve two common techniques: Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). FUT involves removing a 6-10 inch strip of scalp with abundant and robust hair growth, while FUE requires individual extraction of donor hair follicles after shaving the back of the patient’s head. SMP, through the implantation of organic black ink into the scalp, creates the illusion of natural hair follicles. The results of SMP can last up to three to five years before requiring touch-ups. This relatively painless procedure delivers a natural-looking outcome, boosting confidence.
Flawless Scar Cover-Up
Transformative Results with SMP
For those opting for shorter hairstyles, SMP effectively creates the appearance of hair follicles at the back of the head to conceal surgical scars. Similarly, individuals with longer hair can enjoy the look of full hair coverage, effectively camouflaging the scar’s visibility. It’s important to note that scar tissue can be thicker and may not respond to pigments in the same way as regular scalp tissue. Typically, 3-4 sessions lasting from 1 to 6 hours are required for standard treatments. Additional sessions may be necessary for surgical scar cases, as we assess how the area responds to the treatment.
Achieving a blended, natural appearance involves SMP work not only on the scar area but also on the surrounding regions. This meticulous approach ensures a seamless integration and enhances the overall outcome. To ensure complete healing, both internally and externally, the cover-up of FUT/FUE scars with SMP can only be performed a minimum of 8 to 12 months after the surgery. This timeframe allows for the optimal condition of the wounds before initiating the SMP process.
